City Hall is open to the public again. Please note that the hours for Community Development and Finance are from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and alternating Fridays (see calendar for Fridays the City is open).

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the City of Port Hueneme has implemented a no-fee Special Use Permit process to allow businesses to expand their outdoor dining options, queuing areas, etc. Please refer to the: Special Use Permit Application for Temporary Outdoor Uses
Garage sales are allowed again. No more than 2, 2-day events may be held per residence per year and there is a $22 permit fee. For a copy of the permit and regulations, please refer to the Garage Sale Permit
The Community Development Department is responsible for planning and zoning, building & safety, economic development and business assistance, code compliance and parking enforcement. It is also responsible for affordable housing programs.
Counter Services
City Hall Reception/Counter Services is an integral aspect of Community Development's Administration. Staff provides bilingual City Hall reception, counter services, and issuance of miscellaneous documents including:
- Animal licenses
- Beach/neighborhood parking passes
- Bus passes
- Garage sale permits
- Vehicle releases
The Division serves as the ex-officio member to the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce and acts as primary liaison with the commercial Harbor District. Staff works to ensure that new construction and additions to existing structures meet the policies and guidelines that have been established for public safety, zoning and development.
